I have no epic stories of creative non-food waste. Mainly because I’ve actually eaten my meals as planned this week. Well, except last night…

So lesson learned – if food is eaten as planned, food doesn’t go to waste.

Sometimes my brilliance amazes me.

We spend at least an hour at the finish line waiting for Catie. There were fun shenanigans going on down there! Unfortunately, I was having a bad camera day – so stuff is blurry. There’s also the whole “I need a better zoom lens” thing.

Someone lost a bet!

Not at the finish line, but I had to share this one!

I have decided that finish line people watching is even better than airport people watching.

“Whatever.” said the woman that cries at Hallmark commercials.

This is a lousy picture. After about 10 (literally) attempts to get a decent picture, I gave up. No runner needs a stalker… The caption explains that the runner is running in memory of his son – who died of cancer. Yeah, I lost it just typing that. Something tells me there is some symbolism in the Yoda backpack as well.

This guy passed us multiple times – I lost it every. single. time.

Gospel Choir

This choir was dancin’, and clappin’, worshipin’ and singin’ mere feet from the finish line. We passed them, rounded a corner, and there it was. Their singing was the last thing we heard before the cheering of the crowd. I wish I could remember what they were singing – it was a great song!

My Christmas tree is not still up. I do not still have Christmas music in my Pandora quick mix.

I did not get hit in the face by the business end of a seatbelt while at work on Wednesday night. No, my coworkers are always level headed and would never just fling heavy metal objects without looking.

I was not told that I would have two black eyes the next morning. I did not find that comment particularly comforting. I am not disappointed in my face’s apparent lack of ability to bruise. I was not looking forward to putting “I have bilateral periorbital ecchymosis” on my Facebook page. I am not that weird…

I am emphatic about this. The moment any one of you submits to circumcision or any other rule-keeping system, at that same moment Christ’s hard-won gift of freedom is squandered. I repeat my warning: The person who accepts the ways of circumcision trades all the advantages of the free life in Christ for the obligations of the slave life of the law. I suspect you would never intend this, but this is what happens. When you attempt to live by your own religious plans and projects, you are cut off from Christ, you fall out of grace. Meanwhile we expectantly wait for a satisfying relationship with the Spirit. For in Christ, neither our most conscientious religion nor disregard of religion amounts to anything. What matters is something far more interior: faith expressed in love.

Apparently it’s a little bit painful too…

I’ve had mozzarella cheese and some pizza crusts in my freezer for a few…um…years…

This week I took them out, added some veggies and pizza sauce and put them back in the freezer.

Now I have homemade freezer pizzas.

Which I am more likely to consume in the near future than the separated pieces.

I’m getting pretty good at making my own freezer meals. Today I’m making up two batches of buttermilk pancakes to have in my freezer. Buttermilk pancakes make me happy.

So does a waste free week.

Which is what I’ve had!

I took my pocket Nikon to carry on race day. It takes notoriously horrible pictures in low light. Its also not an SLR, so taking pictures while moving didn’t produce fantastic results. However, it did provide documentation of my run. For that, I am very happy.

I was glowing in way too many ways at 0430 in the morning.

Yes, were were herded like cattle. Catie and her family members were way up in Corral D. Apparently that had something to do with the fact that they were more experienced and therefore faster.

There were fireworks as each “wave” (AKA – Corral) passed the start line.

Way cool!

There were Disney characters standing along the route for runners to take pictures of and with. I chose to take pictures of the mile markers. Which one did I miss?
